To be sold at our Classic Cars & Automobilia Sale on 26th Apr 2014
Spartan KitCar. The Spartan was intitially a Triumph, and later Ford Cortina based proprietory "kit car" made in Nottinghamshire. between 1973 and 1995. The brain child of Jim McIntyrethe 22 years of production saw many varied designs coming from the factory, but the Spartan, with its "retro" looks, was the mainstay of production.
This example - illustrated mid rebuild - was bought by the vendor in 2000, it having been factory built in 1994, using the running gear and engine from a 1979 Ford Cortina 2.0 Ghia. The car fitted with a bonnet, windscreen and wings, but lacks a hood. It is only now emerging after a long period of dry storage. The vendor reports it to be immaculate to its underside and ripe for some tidying. Perfect for a few weekend work by the enthusiastic amateur mechanic. It is noted that on cataloguing, the ignition keys had gone missing.
Price Achieved: £750.00
