A Chinese famille rose ginger jar and cover
A Chinese famille rose ginger jar and cover, decorated in coloured enamels within shaped vignettes on a powder blue ground, outlined in gilding, depicting scenes of agricultural and domestic pursuits, the domed cover portraying insects and flowers, gilding rubbed, two minor chips to top edge of rim on jar, Qianlong four character mark in underglaze blue within a double circular blue outline within the footrim, and possibly of the period, 9.25in high, 7.5in diameter, with carved hardwood stand.
