Hand-coloured engraving, 13in (33cm) x 19.125in (48.6cm). With early hand-colouring. Mounted, framed and glazed.

* This is the second state of the map, printed after 1574, when the spelling of Westminster was altered from “West Mester” to “West Muster” and the newly built Royal Exchange building was added.

This sale includes a fine collection of 4 Albrecht Dürer engravings from the collection of Sir Clifford Curzon and Lady Curzon. Another great treasure to be offered in the sale is a copy of the Theatrum Orbis Terrarum (1570), the Theatre of the World.
